Stef Kuypers is a Belgian researcher specializing in behavioral and monetary economics. He began his career in IT, a field to which he brought creative thinking, improvisational techniques, coaching, and business strategy consulting. Equipped with this diverse background, he ventured into the fields of economics, monetary systems, complexity theory, and human behavior.

As a board member at Happonomy, Stef is dedicated to developing an economic system that enhances quality of life for all. His core work is focused on the Sustainable Money System (SuMSy), a groundbreaking monetary model that seeks to align financial mechanisms with human well-being and environmental sustainability.

Stef’s commitment to this mission has led him to pursue a PhD at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where he is continuing to research and refine the SuMSy model. His goal is to reshape monetary systems to foster sustainable and equitable economic practices. Stef’s research delves deeply into the influence of monetary systems on individual behavior and societal organization. Through his work, he advocates for transformative economic systems that challenge traditional financial paradigms and offer innovative solutions to create a fairer and more sustainable future.
