HENRY GEORGE, KARL MARX AND THEIR FOLLOWERS: A CENTURY OF INTENSE RIVALRY

Joins us as we revisit the clash of ideas between George and Marx and their followers

This four-session lectures series presents the story of how George’s emergence as a populist voice for systemic reform in the 19th century coincided with the equal populist socialist movement attached to Marx. Both of these innovative thinkers attracted many thoughtful (and controversial) supporters to their cause, and these supporters frequently debated one another, worked in collaboration or competed for influence and public support. These lectures tell the story.
