Alternative Economics in Five Lessons
Based on Brian Hodgkinson’s book “A New Model of the Economy”, this course offers an alternative analysis of the economy that stresses the importance of rent and credit; elements that are often left out by mainstream economic analysis.
We will discuss the role and influence of spatial location, and how it gives rise to economic rent. At the same time, related topics of money, credit and interest will be examined. Finally, we will assess our current tax policy with a view to highlighting its inhibitory impact on the margin of production.
