Dive into a real talk on how Georgism can tackle systemic racism and oligarchy and fix the housing game for good.
This course explores how racism, oligarchy, and unequal land ownership have shaped American history—and why Georgism must directly confront white supremacy to become a more powerful movement for equality and justice.
Part 1 examines racism as a systemic structure rather than a set of individual attitudes, showing how concentrated real estate ownership helped create and preserve racialized power. The course will also consider why many anti-racism efforts fail when they ignore the economic foundations of racism.
Part 2, planned for early 2027, will continue the discussion by tracing economic racism after the Civil War and examining how a Georgism could help dismantle the systems that sustain oligarchy and racial inequality.
Presenter: Cliff Cobb has studied Henry George’s thought for around 35 years. This course reflects his effort to apply a more explicitly historical method to Georgism, beginning with the central role of race in U.S. history.
