Michelle Alexander’s leadership in correcting the incarceration wrong is breathtaking and much appreciated. There are so many facets of society that would be improved if the inequitable distribution of wealth were reformed, yet we allow corporate welfarism to run rampant. If 100% of Chicago’s ground rent were collected and (partially) invested to relieve the social maladjustments that Michelle so accurately describes, we’d be tipping toward successful reform. Collecting little to none is the recipe for keeping what we have.
