Course: Vacant Land in Baltimore: The High Cost of Undervaluation

Start Date: February 24, 2026

Overview
Join us as we explore how Baltimore could improve its fiscal situation by adopting a market-friendly approach to assessments.

In this interactive webinar, Greg Miller and Lars Doucet discuss how flawed state property assessments in Baltimore systematically value empty lots at a fraction of their true market price. This practice creates an unintentional incentive for speculative blight and unfairly shifts the tax burden onto homeowners and active businesses. They propose adopting straightforward, market-based valuation methods to improve data collection and achieve accurate and fair results.
