Raymond Moley – A Georgist in FDR’s Inner Circle?

When the economy and financial system of the United States seemed on the verge of collapse in the early 1930s, Columbia University professor Raymond Moley found himself the leading figure within Franklin Roosevelt’s Brains Trust. He was but one of a sizeable but scattered community of intellectuals and activists who had read and to some extent embraced the analysis of political economy contained in the works of Henry George. This series will examine George’s profound influence on Moley’s thinking.
